OAKLAND. Built in 1931, and since refurbished, this performance hall is considered an Art Deco masterpiece with its elaborate ceiling work, ornate decor, and gilt accents. The reputable Oakland Ballet and the Oakland Symphony put on performances in the 3,000-seat facility, and other special performances, from rock to classical, occur throughout the year. Tours of the facility are also available.
